Freedom Scuba USA is a PADI dive shop located just outside of Syracuse, NY. We pride ourselves on making a connection with each student to create a more meaningful educational experience. We keep our classes small in order to give each and every student the attention they deserve and need. Our company can help you start diving, continue your diving education, organize your travel needs and help you with product selection. IDC Staff Instructor Carl Sanfilippo

With more than 15 years of experience and over 3,000 dives to his credit, Carl Sanfilippo is one of the most respected divers in Central New York. His passion for diving extends into his classrooms, where he still enjoys the thrill of watching first time divers begin their love affair with the open water. A PADI IDC Staff Instructor, Sanfilippo has been privileged to certify hundreds of divers at all levels of diving. As a 32 year educator and 24 year head football coach, a person's safety and well being are the most important components in teaching you to dive. You always come first at Freedom Scuba USA.

Scuba Instructor Jason Meany

Jason has been diving for 4 years and just finished his instructor training this summer in Key Largo. He is currently a science teacher in Syracuse and was a coach and avid runner. Jason has always loved the ocean and cares for a large reef aquarium in his home. Nothing excites Jason more then teaching scuba and helping new students. It's his way of reliving the excitement of the first experience of breathing underwater.

Divemaster Meghan MacCollum

Meghan is one of the original students of Carl 'Coach' Sanfilippo and has been diving for 11 years. She is thrilled to be teaching alongside Coach and for Freedom Scuba. Meghan holds an Ecology & Evolutionary Biology degree and an Integrative Physiology degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She has had a passion for water since childhood which has led her to a life in the U.S. Virgin Islands and to many exotic places including the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Panama & Belize. She is currently working on her Assistant Instructor certification and plans to do her Instructor this fall. She loves being a part of our new and exciting dive shop and is eager to share her knowledge and expertise with our worlds future divers!

Aqua Cat Liveaboard
